Jordan Brand and Converse have come together to produce the most surprising colab of the yearwith each brand creating a tribute to Michael Jordan’s college roots at the University of North Carolina.
Converse?s contribution resurrects the final sneaker of the GOAT’s amateur career ? the star-and-chevron-equipped Fastbreak ? in UNC team colours. The Tar Heels’ signature cornflower blue adorns the leather and canvas sneaker’s branding and heel as well as the insolewhich has been switched up with Lunarlon and the Air Jordan ‘Wings’ logo.
Over at the Jumpmana special rendition of the Air Jordan 2 has been producedfeaturing a mix of both Bulls’ and Tar Heels’ colours. Despite having never been released to the publicthe hybrid make-up was worn by MJ in an alumni game against UCLA all the way back in June 1987. For an added touchcommemorative heel branding has been added in place of the traditional Nike textwith ?MJ? on the left and ?6/28/87? ? the date of the game ? on the right.
The Air Jordan x Converse ‘Alumni’ pack will release on June 28 through selected stockistsincluding Concepts.
